Who is Cultured Compass for?

The grown and cultured — roughly 30 and up. We center Black and minority communities and welcome anyone who values upscale, intentional spaces over loud, college-bar energy.

Is this only for Black-owned businesses?

Accepted Answer

No. We highlight Black-owned and minority-owned businesses with a dedicated Spotlight, and we also feature Black-and-brown frequented venues that consistently deliver the vibe — regardless of who owns them.

How do you decide what gets listed?

Every venue is personally visited before it makes the Compass. We weigh ambiance, service, sound, crowd, and whether the room actually fits a grown night out. We don't accept payment for placement.

How do I submit a business?

Tap Submit a Venue in your Profile settings, or email melissagyl@culturedcompassapp.com. Tell us the name, neighborhood, category, and one sentence on why it belongs. Owners are welcome — but a recommendation from a regular carries just as much weight.

How do I submit an event?

Use the same submit form and select Event, or email melissagyl@culturedcompassapp.com. Supper clubs, live music, day parties, tastings, mixers — if it's grown-folks energy, send it.

What cities does it cover?

Greater Dallas — Dallas, North Dallas, South Dallas, East and West Dallas, plus Fort Worth, Arlington, and the surrounding areas. We expand by demand — request your city in the form.

Can I report something inaccurate?

Accepted Answer

Yes — every venue page has a report option. We re-verify within a week.
